The State of Hiring in the Healthcare Industry 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed businesses in nearly every industry, but none more so than Healthcare.

The 2021 State of Hiring in the Healthcare Industry, reveals insights from 60+ healthcare employers in the UK, examining how recruitment and HR have adapted in a year of unprecedented change.

Despite the near-universal upheaval—we are buoyed by what we have learned from the insights in this report, some interesting statistics show improved optimism, but the impact of C-19 is still being felt:

  • Recruitment is high on the agenda with a 42% increase in the number of people hired in the sector to date in 2021.
  • When it comes to sourcing talent, Indeed has been the biggest source of hires for healthcare employers (44%), followed by careers pages (22%), and LinkedIn (6%).
  • Challenges attracting the right candidates persist, with the average number of hospitality job applications per job down by 56% compared with the same period in 2020.
  • 71% this year rise in the number of online job advertisements in healthcare compared to 2020.
